We are anticipating that, for 2021, with an easing of gathering restrictions, we will return to the provision of live Commemorative Services. Where such live services are not permitted, we will endeavour to pre-record a suitable alternative for up-loading to facebook and web page.
However, for ANZAC 2021 and beyond, our members have decided to concentrate our Commemorative efforts in the Dawn Service. Falling attendances and other issues have given reason to cease provision of the ANZAC Sunday Service previously conducted on a Sunday before ANZAC Day.
Thus, Services for 2021 (where permitted) will include:
1. ANZAC Dawn Service - Sunday 25th April. RSL Guns War Memorial, St Marys Diggers Club, Hall St., St Marys. As from 11th February 2021, COVID-19 guidelines from NSW State Government and RSL NSW, still prevent us from returning to our normal ANZAC Dawn Service. While we therefore need to plan for a restriction to 500 seated in a secure area, we are aware that these 'rules' could well change - but you will know that at the time you are reading this. Currently, we will conduct a Dawn Service at our usual location (St Marys Diggers Club) commencing at 5.00am for all serving and ex-serving personnel together with their families. In addition, invitations will be issued to a limited number of individuals. We apologise to all who cannot be invited to attend, however we will be live-streaming the Service via our Facebook page to enable remote participation. Thank you for understanding.
2. Vietnam Veterans Day - Wednesday 18th August. 3.00pm Jack Jewry Reserve, Waratah St., St Marys.
3. Remembrance Day - Thursday 11th November. 11.00am War Memorial Bandstand, Victoria Park, St Marys.
For each Service, dress includes Medals. All in the community are invited to attend and participate in these commemorations.
