  Vice President

Hi my name is Uwe Schoenherr, I was born in Germany and my family migrated to Australia in 1958. I grew up in Balmain and was called up for National Service in 1970.

My Service in the Australian Army consisted of Recruit Training at Kapooka, Corps Training at Puckapunyal where I trained as Crewman Driver/Signaller in the Armoured Corps. APC. My overseas Service was with 1ATF Headquarter Company until I arrived back in Australia October 1971 and discharged February 1972 and returned to my civilian employer BHP Sydney Wire mill until I finished work with them in 1997 when the plant was shut down.

I have been living in the St Marys, St Clair area since 1972. It was in late 1996 that I was first involved with the VVAA St Marys Outpost. In the past I was a Vice President and then a couple of years later President for one year and now again in 2010 Vice President and also Welfare Officer.
