Commemorative Services
In 2020, the Commemorative Services at St Marys include:
1. Anzac - SUNDAY March and Service. This event will occur on Sunday 19th April, commencing at 11.00am. The assembly point for the March is Cook Park, on Wilson Street (near western end). If marching, form up in this park at 10.30am, ready to march off by 11.00am. Dress includes medals. March will conclude at the RSL Guns War Memorial at the St Marys RSL Club, where a Service will immediately be conducted. After the Service, attendees are invited into the Club auditorium for a light lunch and refreshments. All in the community are invited to attend and participate in this commemoration. 2. ANZAC - Dawn Service at St Marys RSL - Saturday 25th April 2020, 5.00am This annual Service will be conducted at the St Marys RSL Memorial in the grounds of St Marys RSL Club. Dress includes medals. Dual special 'Live TV - Big Screen' facilities will be on site to ensure those attending are able to view all details of the Service. After the Service, all special guests and sub-Branch Members (and their family) are invited to breakfast in the club. [The St Marys RSL Club Ltd will also offer a breakfast for all other attendees at a small cost.] All in the community are invited to attend and participate in this commemoration. Information about the ANZAC Day Parade in Sydney can be accessed at www.rslnsw.org.au. 3. Vietnam Veterans Day - Tuesday 18th August 2020, 5.00pm St Marys RSL sub-Branch, and the Vietnam Veterans Association, St Marys Outpost will jointly conduct our annual Service at our Memorial at St Marys RSL. Dress includes medals. More details to be supplied later, or contact the Honorary Secretary MESSAGE. All in the community are invited to attend and participate in this commemoration. 4. Remembrance Day - Wednesday 11th November 2020, St Marys sub-Branch will conduct this annual Service at the War Memorial Bandstand at Victoria Park, Great Western Highway, St Marys. The Bandstand is an appropriate Memorial where we can remember all (particularly local service personnel) who were lost in WW1 and subsequent conflicts involving our Nation.
